Job Summary:
The Market Development Officer (MDO) will be responsible for promoting and selling agricultural products (such as seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, or agri-equipment) to farmers, distributors, and retailers within a defined territory. The MDO plays a critical role in driving market penetration, increasing sales volumes, and educating the farming community on product benefits and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Promote company’s agricultural products to farmers, dealers, and agri-retailers.

Conduct field visits and on-ground demonstrations to educate farmers about product usage and benefits.

Organize farmer meetings, field days, and product demonstrations.
-
Build and maintain relationships with local dealers, distributors, and influencers in the agri-community.
-
Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets as set by the management.

Gather feedback from the market and report competitor activities and customer insights.

Assist in launching new products and ensuring their successful adoption in the market.

Maintain regular reports on field activities, customer visits, and sales performance.

Provide post-sales support and technical guidance to customers when required.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field. (Diploma holders with relevant experience may also apply)
-
1–3 years of experience in agri-sales or field-level marketing preferred (freshers with good agri-knowledge may be considered).

Strong understanding of local agricultural practices and crop cycles.
-
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work independently and travel extensively within the territory.
-
Passion for agriculture and willingness to interact with rural communities.
Skills Required:

Knowledge of agri-input products (e.g., seeds, fertilizers, pesticides)
